Objectives
The Spirit of Ar’tor at Illidari Point in Shadowmoon Valley wants you to recover the Second Fragment of the Cipher of Damnation from Veneratus the Many.
Creatures attacked or damaged by the Spirit Hunter will not yield loot or experience.
Second Fragment of the Cipher of DamnationDescription
At last, we are ready. I will bestow a piece of my spirit upon you, hero. It will guard you and help you in your battle against evil.
You must then travel south of here towards the back of Illidari Point. Hidden in the ether is a vile creature known as Veneratus the Many. My spirit hunter will call him out when he is near.
Destroy Veneratus and take from his corpse the second part of the Cipher of Damnation.

The cipher must be recovered!

Quest Help Notes
Quest: 10540
This is not hard, but you have to have the hunter with you, (so flying there is a no go) go to the south side of the tall mountain at 30,57, and this floating ball with tenicles and teeth shows up. It hits hard, and the hunter stands there and gets beat on, he might hit it with his axe a few times, but don’t expect much help from him. As a hunter I dragged him to an area I cleared near the mountain, and healed my pet and shot the monster. Took me 3 times to kill it, but I did. Make sure you clear the area before trying this, the adds are killer.

Ahhh, I feel a bit silly 
I picked up this quest a couple of days ago, and only came back to it today. Spent so long wondering why Veneratus the Many wouldn’t spawn before realising that of course the Spirit Hunter buff only lasts a short while. Went back to the Spirit of Ar’tor @ 29,50 and picked up another 10 min buff 
)
Back up the slight hill to 30,57 and the huge head popped straight up – thank you for all the advice here )

For a proper frost mage this guy is a @#%^. 27k health, but moves very slowly and can be chilled/frozen. I just walked forward killing mobs and when he appeared froze him and nuked him down. Easy peasy.

If I remember correctly, the description of ‘Elite’ includes ‘three times the health of the average mob for that level’. Twice the health is not quite to that level.
That being said, this quest is rough – mostly because it’s supposed to be soloed, but one is saddled with a moron escort pet that appears to be designed to cause grief, and after factoring in respawn, the quest is very rough. Hopefully the chain reward will be worth it – but somehow I doubt it.

Veneratus is supposed to be at 30,56 but artok gives you this stupid debuff that lasts for 10 minutes so you have to wonder around looking for Veneratus til the spell wars off
